Description
About our Veggie CSA Subscriptions:
How it works:
- Our CSA subscription is an account credit that’s maintained with your login info.
- Your subscription has a built in discount level. When you purchase a $250 subscription, your credit on file will be $285. When you purchase a $500 subscription, your credit on file will be $585, and when you purchase a $1000 subscription, your credit on fill will be $1200.
- Use your credit on ANYTHING on our site forever! Veggies available ~June 10-Oct 31, and you can also order, breads, pickles, flowers, preserves, hand-crafted gifts, soaps, etc. Everything is made in Colorado, most is local to Larimer county (except balloons, which we stock for our floral shop).
- Vegetable ordering is for CSA customers only. We set you up with a username & password to access online ordering for our vegetables, produce and herbs. You can also use your subscription to order our regular products as well.
- Vegetable availability follows typical seasonal patterns (for instance, we likely won’t have field-grown tomatoes until mid-July)
- Orders (minimum $50) are delivered FREE as part of our delivery routes for flowers, gifts, etc. Items are stocked for online ordering Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. We deliver Monday and Wednesday – Saturday (occasionally same day slots are available if you place an order by 10am).
Benefits & Limitations:
- Your subscription helps to provide produce to isolated, rural seniors/disabled on limited incomes in the Livermore/Red Feather Lakes area. CSA income supplements our produce grant fund income to make very low-cost delivery possible to isolated seniors with mobility issues.
- CSA members are invited to special events and classes at our Livermore (mountain ranch) location. CSA events are scheduled for weekends only. We can’t host visitors at our Fort Collins location due to insurance/landlord requirements.
- We grow just about everything! I’ve been growing for 30+ years (3 years commercially) and one of my favorite parts of growing is the huge variety that’s available. So far I’ve been really successful with everything except Romanesco! (but we’re trying it again anyway). See a list below of vegetables and varieties we grow.
Farm Details:
We’re offering ONLY 10 produce, vegetable and herb CSA subscriptions for 2023. Most Vegetables (squash, corn, zucchini, tomatoes, pepper, eggplant, potatoes, etc) will be grown in Fort Collins, while cool season produce, greens and most herbs (spinach, lettuce, chard, arugula, parsley, dill, fennel, sugar snap and snow peas, etc) will be grown at our mountain location (these crops love cool weather!!) Check our farm blog for posts for updates on what we’re growing next season, or below for a comprehensive list.
We grow all of our crops (flowers, vegetables, herbs, etc) using organic and sustainable methods with drip irrigation, biodegradable mulched beds (or raised beds), rainwater harvesting and controlled organic fertilizers that don’t result in excessive nitrate runoff.
Our 2023 veggie season will begin June 10th, 2023 and continue through the end of October. Your subscription purchase reserves your ordering and delivery slot for produce, vegetable and herb orders (by membership only) and becomes a store credit (gift card) toward farm market purchases throughout the season. Farm Market purchases are delivered FREE within city limits as long as the entire order meets our $50 delivery minimum. Note – we also accept orders from remote locations for a $10 additional delivery fee as long as you meet our minimums. We live up in the mountains, so we get it! We deliver Monday, and Wednesday-Saturday. Only CSA members can order our produce – the rest goes to local residents/seniors in need.
Our entire season runs ~ 20 weeks. We use market-normalized pricing (competitive with the local farmer’s markets) for all offerings, and you are free to order whatever you like and have it delivered using your store credit. You can order veggies, chocolates, soap, gifts, or even save some dollars for a Christmas centerpiece or wreath! We have a limited number of subscriptions available for $250 (~5 deliveries) $500 (~10 deliveries) or $1000 (~20 deliveries) so that you can select the right spending level for summer travel plans and budget. We only have 10 subscriptions total available for 2023 due to delivery slot limitations, so don’t delay!

Why we offer a Produce/Vegetable/Herbs CSA
Building Economy
Providing produce & vegetables to local residents on fixed incomes:
- Our mountain community has the highest proportion of seniors in Larimer county.
- Many folks retired here to affordable homesteads on limited incomes and savings – and recent inflation is destroying their ability to make ends meet
- Additionally – with no grocery stores, and limited gardening capacity (wind, water restrictions and wildlife issues), fresh vegetables & produce are even more challenging.
Focused on Rural Opportunity Development:
- We provide an easy to access online marketplace for rural artisans & crafters in addition to our farm grown produce & flowers.
- We provide an organized, direct supply and delivery transportation chain to connect rural and urban markets.
- We help with branding, photography, logo design, business development and planning— all for free and in collaboration with many different rural development experts.
- Building local economy provides funds that stay within the mountain community to allow all of us to help each other (something residents up here are very generous about).
